Does anyone else notice that many of these reviews were written on the same day, or by EDCDC? That is because a parent of a child who went there will tell you to STAY AWAY. STAY FAR AWAY! The rooms are always at State ratio or above. Every morning, for 1.5 years, when I dropped my child off at EDCDC I would stand in the class room chatting with the teacher while they called someone else to come in to help out. I would not leave my child unless the room was within ratio. We realized that the reason this would happen is because the owner was more interested in cashing our check than in the safety of our child. This is because the day care is continuously understaffed. The more I chatted with the teachers, the more I realized just how mean the owner was. The owner would lie to the teachers to make them feel bad, then turn around and lie to me and tell me she fixed the issue. We were told that the staff was properly trained. Staff members who have been there for years have been trained due to their own desires to be fully qualified. The new staff members (which make up most of the staff) are not. On many occasions during the hot Texas summer, while our child was in the care of a new staff member, our child was taken outside to "play" without being offered water. This lead to a grumpy child, but it could have been much worse. If this staff member were trained properly, the children wouldn't haven been outside long enough to become sluggish and red faced. This staff member solved her lack of training by quiting. The owner never did anything in terms of providing training or an assistant. The owner also assured us that once EDCDC was informed of a child's food allergy, they would make sure that the child was never served what they were allergic to. Since my child has an allergy, this was a concern of mine. With the change in staff, and the lack of training of that staff, my child was served that food. And since it isn't a hidden allergy, I found this to be very upsetting. If you are looking for a safe day care for your child, this isn't it.
