If you're looking for a camera store with exceptional inventory and beyond exceptional customer service, look no further than Competitive Cameras. I first stepped foot into their store a year ago this month. Not only have I ever looked back, I have never shopped anywhere else. Since then, I've probably been back three times a month, every month, for the last year. I have them on speed dial. They're in my Fave 5. I'm not kidding. I finally ventured into the professional world of photography a year and a half ago. After venturing into their store a year ago, I have gained more knowledge (which equals more confidence, which equals more business) than I ever thought possible. There are so many things I love about Competitive Cameras: for one, they don't play favorites. They'll treat the mom at the counter (buying a replacement lens cap for her college kid) just as equally as they will the seasoned, award winning professional photog who is on assignment for the Dallas Morning News. I know this, because I've witnessed it. While on the phone with customers from New York, they're tending to their customers in Dallas . . . as well as the ones who drove in over five hours from Somewhere Else, USA just to buy from them. I know this, because I've witnessed it. I love that when you buy something from them, whether it's a pocket-point-and-shoot or a $3500 something-or-another, they tell you to call or come back with any questions. And they mean it. And I know this, because I've done it. Several times. They really are in my Fave 5. The store is family owned and family operated. Eugene and Ramsey will greet with you a smile, remember your name, the item that you purchased from them (even if it was years ago), and if you're lucky - that your 3 year old daughter loves Cheetos. . . They are passionate about photography, both the revered days of film and the cutting edge of digital. But, truly, they are most passionate about their customers. I honestly can not stress enough how wonderful they have been to me. And I have seen, countless times, how they treat everyone else standing on my side of the counter. I can, without a shadow of a doubt, assure you that you truly will not want, or need, another camera store after you experience Competitive Cameras. As a photographer, I value their insight, expertise, knowledge and amazing inventory. As a consumer, I value their commitment to the customer, their phenomenal prices, and their commitment to the customer. And did I mention their phenomenal prices and their commitment to the customer? The environment is fast paced (and I honestly don't know how they keep up with it), but the experience is priceless. The only regret you'll have with Competitive Cameras is that you didn't find them sooner. The only regret you'll have with Competitive Cameras is that you didn't find them sooner. They have never been abrupt with me. Granted they do get busy, especially on Saturdays, but even then they go out of there way to make sure you have everything you need and answer all your questions. You ask them anything from a price on some obscure item to their recommendation on a tripod and they know the price and have the answer. I could go to places closer and save the 30 min drive each way, but the price and service are far superior than anyone around... definitely worth the trip!!! I am honored to have Eugene & all the guys at Competitve as vendors, friends and teachers!!!! Jennifer Shannon / A Different Perspective Photography
